Sarah is the director of the Math department and head Math tutor at LionTutors. She received a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics and a Masters in Business Management at the University of Florida. Sarah has been tutoring math for over a decade. She has a true talent, and more importantly, a true passion for teaching. Sarah makes math easy by breaking up each problem step-by-step and using language that students understand. We’ll even go so far as to say, she makes learning math fun… well as fun as math can be anyway!
Kenny DeGiglio is the head tutor for business classes at LionTutors. Kenny studied finance at Penn State where he graduated in 2015 with honors. Kenny has helped countless students through Penn State’s most challenging business classes by breaking down complex concepts into simple strategies that students can use to succeed on exams. He tries his best to keep his reviews entertaining and lighthearted (please laugh at his jokes even though they’re not funny), and he will always go the extra mile to make sure that students get the grade they want!
Emily is our head accounting, statistics, and economics tutor. She is also the LionTutors Director of Operations. She graduated from Penn State’s MAcc program in 2016 with a masters in accounting and a minor in Spanish. Emily has a rare ability to relate statistics, accounting, and economics concepts to students in ways that are easy to understand.
Shai is the head Chemistry, Physics, and Biology tutor at LionTutors. He first began tutoring undergraduate students while majoring in Chemistry at the University of Florida, and has continued to do so for over a decade now. Shai’s interactive teaching style and ability to relate to college students, combined with his love of science (as well as all things sci-fi and fantasy!), has lead to improved grades for thousands of students at Penn State University. Currently, Shai lives in the UK and is flown out to State College each month to give his exam reviews. That’s right, Shai is such an amazing tutor that LionTutors literally flies him in from England to give LionTutors Exam Reviews!
Josh is the LionTutors CEO. Josh has developed the content for the majority of LionTutors business and economics courses. He has taught thousands of students in subjects ranging from Economics, Accounting, Finance, and Statistics to Advanced Computer Software and the GMAT/GRE test prep. He worked with a division of Cengage Learning, one of the major textbook companies, as a senior developer of Aplia online problem sets that pair with finance, economics, and accounting textbooks for a period of six years. He is pretty good at tutoring.
Kristi received her B.S. in Behavioral Sciences with a minor in Human Resource Management from York College of Pennsylvania. She worked in nonprofit management, marketing, and public relations for 14 years while freelancing for local and national businesses as a writer. She received her MAEd in Educational Studies in October 2011 and splits her time between teaching and advocating for children with disabilities and their families. Kristi has also taken additional psychology graduate courses. She appreciates the importance of creating study materials that are easy to understand and interesting to read. She lives in State College with her husband and teenage daughter and enjoys photography, ukuleles, reading, and really old movies. She creates study materials for MGMT 301, MKTG 301, and BA 342. Kristi often provides private tutoring services to PSU undergrads studying business, behavioral sciences, English, and education.
Emily is one of our MATH 110 tutors. She is a Marketing major in the Smeal College of Business and plans on minoring in Spanish. Emily, when not tutoring students in calculus, spends her time organizing THON fundraisers for her club Women in Business as their THON Donor Relations Chair. She also is a mentor for Smeal Student Mentors, so feel free to reach out to her not only for questions about MATH 110, but about anything else; she would love to help!
Glen is one of our ACCTG 211 tutors, and he is a member of the Integrated Masters of Accounting Program Class of 2021. Upon graduation, he plans to become CPA and work close to home in New York City. He loves to help students progress and achieve their goals. Aside from tutoring, Glen is the treasurer of his fraternity and has a passion for all sports. In the summer he enjoys watching games at Yankee Stadium and road-tripping to different baseball stadiums with his friends. It is his goal to reach all 30 stadiums eventually!
Rachel is a tutor for Math 141. She is majoring in chemical engineering with a minor in psychology. She has been tutoring math since she was in high school and working with LionTutors since her sophomore year. She is from Warren, PA. Outside of class, Rachel is involved with her R&R THON committee and she loves to spend time with friends and read.

Kyle is one of our tutors for Math 251. He is from Collegeville, which is in the suburbs of Philadelphia. He is studying Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Engineering Leadership Development. He hopes to enter into the aerospace or automotive industry after graduation. At Penn State, Kyle is involved in a THON committee and also his fraternity, Sigma Phi Epsilon.
Allison is one of our math tutors. She is majoring in Aerospace Engineering with a minor in Mathematics. She is from Pittsburgh, PA, and she hopes to one day work for a space industry in the designing or computational department. Allison became a tutor because of her passion for math and her ability to help friends with their math classes. She loves sharing her skills with other students! Outside of LionTutors, she is a SWAT envoy, a TA for Engineering Design 100, and involved in a jazz ensemble at school.
Jonah is one of our tutors for PHYS 211. He is from Pittsburgh, PA, and he is majoring in Actuarial Science with a minor in Statistics.
After graduation, he hopes to enter the Property and Casualty side of the insurance industry as an actuary.
At Penn State, Jonah is a runner on the Club Track and Field team, a Director of Fundraising for his THON Organization, and very involved in Intramural Sports.
Tyler is one of our CHEM 110 tutors. He is majoring in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Environmental Engineering. He is from Port Allegany, PA and hopes to one day work in the Alternative Energy and Fuels industry. Tyler became a tutor because of his passion for chemistry and helping people. Tejas is one of our STAT 200 tutors. He is majoring in Finance and Biochemistry. He decided to become a tutor because he enjoys helping students reach a feeling of accomplishment when their material finally “clicks.” Outside of tutoring, Tejas is involved in undergraduate research and the Nittany Lion Fund. He likes to spend his free time kayaking, skiing, and mountain biking. After graduation, he is planning on pursuing a career in Investment Banking.
Mary is one of our SCM200 tutors. She is pursuing a double major in Supply Chain and Economics, and graduating in the spring of 2021. Mary is from West Chester, Pennsylvania. Matt is one of our MATH140 tutors. He is from Langhorne, PA, located right outside of Philadelphia. He is majoring in Industrial Engineering and hopes to become an Industrial Engineer for the Walt Disney Company. Other than tutoring, Matt enjoys watching the Phillies, going to the gym, and spending time with friends and family. Alyssa is one of our MATH 110 tutors at LionTutors. She is from Pittsburgh, PA! Within Smeal, her major is Finance and her minor is Information Systems Management. She has always had a love for calculus throughout both high school and college. Aside from tutoring and working other jobs, Alyssa is active in numerous organizations including THON Dancer Relations, Smeal Ambassadors, Cooking and Baking Club, and a few more.
Katherine is one of our MATH 021 and MATH 022 tutors. She is from Pittsburgh, PA. She is a member of the Integrated Masters of Accounting Program class of 2023 and is working toward a minor in Music Performance with a focus in Violin. Upon graduation, she plans on becoming a CPA and working for a public accounting firm. She is also involved in the Accounting Society and Women in Business. Ethan is a junior studying chemical engineering with a minor in chemistry. On campus, he is a member of the Schreyer Honors College. Ethan has a passion for learning with the hopes to improve the clean energy industry. Aside from academics, he spends his time working on cars and staying in shape. In his hometown of Erie, PA, Ethan takes pride in working with the youth to train them as amateur boxers.
Jeffrey is from Newtown, Pennsylvania. He is majoring in Computer Science with minors in Economics and Mathematics. Kyle is from Brooklyn, NY. He is majoring in meteorology and hopes to one day forecast for the National Weather Service. At Penn State, Kyle is a shift leader for the Campus Weather Service, a member of the co-ed fraternity Phi Sigma Pi, and is frequently involved in IM Sports. In his free time, he enjoys playing the piano and watching baseball. Kyle decided to become a tutor to share the knowledge he’s worked hard to obtain. He loves helping people learn!
Max is one of our ECON 102 tutors, and he is from Harrisburg, PA. He is pursuing a Finance major as well as an International Business minor. Max is a member of Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business Fraternity, and he has completed programs such as Wall Street Boot Camp and the Consulting Training Program.
