Sarah is the director of the Math department and head Math tutor at LionTutors. She received a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics and a Masters in Business Management at the University of Florida. Sarah has been tutoring math for over a decade. She has a true talent, and more importantly, a true passion for teaching. Sarah makes math easy by breaking up each problem step-by-step and using language that students understand. We’ll even go so far as to say, she makes learning math fun… well as fun as math can be anyway!
Josh has developed the content for the majority of LionTutors business and economics courses. He has taught thousands of students in subjects ranging from Economics, Accounting, Finance, and Statistics to Advanced Computer Software and the GMAT/GRE test prep. He worked for a division of Cengage Learning, one of the major textbook companies, as a senior developer of online problem sets that pair with finance, economics, and accounting textbooks for over six years. Josh is always willing to go the extra mile to help Penn State students get the grades they want!
Shai is the head Chemistry, Physics, and Biology tutor at LionTutors. He first began tutoring undergraduate students while majoring in Chemistry at the University of Florida, and has continued to do so for over a decade now. Shai’s interactive teaching style and ability to relate to college students, combined with his love of science (as well as all things sci-fi and fantasy!), has lead to improved grades for thousands of students at Penn State University. Currently, Shai lives in the UK and is flown out to State College each month to give his exam reviews. That’s right, Shai is such an amazing tutor that LionTutors literally flies him in from England to give LionTutors Exam Reviews!
Emily is our head business and statistics tutor. She is also the LionTutors Director of Operations. She graduated from Penn State’s MAcc program in 2016 with a masters in accounting and a minor in Spanish. Emily has a rare ability to relate statistics, accounting, and economics concepts to students in ways that are easy to understand.
Kenny DeGiglio is the head tutor for business classes at LionTutors. Kenny studied finance at Penn State where he graduated in 2015 with honors. Kenny has helped countless students through Penn State’s most challenging business classes by breaking down complex concepts into simple strategies that students can use to succeed on exams. He tries his best to keep his reviews entertaining and lighthearted (please laugh at his jokes even though they’re not funny), and he will always go the extra mile to make sure that students get the grade they want!
Aidan is one of our ECON 102 tutors. He completed a double major in history and global studies, and he recently became a middle school social studies teacher. In his free time, he enjoys hiking and traveling. Aidan loves helping students learn, so feel free to reach out to him with your questions!
Kristi received her B.S. in Behavioral Sciences with a minor in Human Resource Management from York College of Pennsylvania. She worked in nonprofit management, marketing, and public relations for 14 years while freelancing for local and national businesses as a writer. She received her MAEd in Educational Studies in October 2011 and splits her time between teaching and advocating for children with disabilities and their families. Kristi has also taken additional psychology graduate courses. She appreciates the importance of creating study materials that are easy to understand and interesting to read. She lives in State College with her husband and teenage daughter and enjoys photography, ukuleles, reading, and really old movies. She creates study materials for MGMT 301, MKTG 301, and BA 342. Kristi often provides private tutoring services to PSU undergrads studying business, behavioral sciences, English, and education.
Jason is one of our ACCTG 211 tutors. He is from Staten Island, NY. He is currently on his way to obtaining a masters degree through the Integrated Masters of Accounting Program. Jason has the unique ability to explain difficult concepts with simple real world examples for everyone to understand. Adam is one of our CHEM 110 tutors. He is from Lakeville, Minnesota and is majoring in Forensic Science and minoring in Psychology. Adam became a tutor so he could help others understand chemistry better, as well as improving his own knowledge of chemistry. Outside of tutoring, Adam enjoys playing soccer, karate, watching football, and spending time with friends.
Sophie is one of our math tutors. She is majoring in Chemical Engineering with an interest in Pharmaceuticals. She hopes to work as a process engineer for a biotechnology company. She is originally from Baltimore, MD. In addition to tutoring, Sophie is involved in Engineering Ambassadors and guiding engineering tours for ESTARS. In her free time, she enjoys running, watching gymnastics, baking, and drinking tea.
Chris is one of our MATH 141 tutors. He is majoring in Computer Science and Statistics. He is from the suburbs of Philadelphia near the King of Prussia area. After college, his career goal is working as a quant in any big name company. He loves to teach, as he spent many of his high school days volunteering as a math tutor. He is also involved in a research lab in computational analysis for biogenetic data analysis at Penn State. He spends his free time watching the Sixers and relaxing. Nick is one of our MATH 140 tutors. He is a junior pursuing a mechanical engineering major with a minor in engineering leadership development. He is from Collegeville, Pennsylvania, where he spent years tutoring classmates and friends. Outside of the classroom, he volunteers for THON, lifts weights, and plays video games with his friends. Amanda is a BIOL 110 tutor. She’s majoring in Geoscience and working on her masters degree in Geology through an integrated program. Amanda is from Long Island, NY and loves being close to the beach at home. She loves the natural sciences and likes to be outside because of it. Besides tutoring, Amanda likes to read, hike, and cook in her free time.
Caitlin is one of our PHYS 211 tutors. She is from Lancaster, PA. Caitlin is majoring in Civil Engineering, planning to go into the construction industry upon graduation. Caitlin believes she can help people to understand and enjoy physics after being inspired by her high school physics teacher, who provided a meaningful experience. Outside of tutoring, Caitlin works as a learning assistant in the physics department and is a member of the American Society for Civil Engineers and Christian Student Fellowship.
Ryan is one of our calculus tutors, and he is currently studying biomedical engineering. He is originally from Chester County, Pennsylvania. Ryan is the Director of Community Involvement for Penn State’s undergraduate BMES chapter. He is also an Intern for Penn State’s musculoskeletal regenerative engineering laboratory. Outside of his major, Ryan is a Learning Assistant for Penn State’s chemistry department. In his free time, Ryan enjoys playing the violin, working out, and spending time with his friends and family.
Mattie is one of our math tutors, and she is from Tyrone, PA. She is pursuing degrees in Secondary Education Mathematics and Mathematics Systems Analysis. Mattie became a tutor because she loves helping others understand challenging topics and seeing them succeed. Outside of the classroom, Mattie is a member of the club volleyball team, and she enjoys going to the gym, golfing, and spending time with friends!
Scott is one of our PHYS 211 tutors. He is from Chicago, IL. Scott is a senior majoring in Meteorology and Atmospheric Sciences with an Energy Business and Finance minor, and he is
planning on working in the private sector after graduation. Scott became a tutor after helping those around him in high school and college physics courses, and after 4+ years of learning/teaching, he believes he can give back to the PSU students through tutoring. When not tutoring, Scott enjoys watching Chicago sports, leading discussions in a group called Lions for Christ, and making dinners after class.

Brody is one of our Finance 301 tutors. He is majoring in Finance and minoring in Political Science. He is from Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Sarah is a PHYS 250/251 tutor and is from Lancaster County, PA. She is majoring in biology with a minor in nutritional sciences on the pre-med track. Sarah loves working with students and began tutoring in high school. In addition to tutoring, you will likely see Sarah performing with the Penn State Blue Band on clarinet at football, hockey, and basketball games.
