Sarah is the director of the Math department and head Math tutor at LionTutors. She received a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics and a Masters in Business Management at the University of Florida. Sarah has been tutoring math for over a decade. She has a true talent, and more importantly, a true passion for teaching. Sarah makes math easy by breaking up each problem step-by-step and using language that students understand. We’ll even go so far as to say, she makes learning math fun… well as fun as math can be anyway!
Kenny DeGiglio is the head tutor for business classes at LionTutors. Kenny studied finance at Penn State where he graduated in 2015 with honors. Kenny has helped countless students through Penn State’s most challenging business classes by breaking down complex concepts into simple strategies that students can use to succeed on exams. He tries his best to keep his reviews entertaining and lighthearted (please laugh at his jokes even though they’re not funny), and he will always go the extra mile to make sure that students get the grade they want!
Emily is our head accounting and statistics tutor. She is also the LionTutors Director of Operations. She graduated from Penn State’s MAcc program in 2016 with a masters in accounting and a minor in Spanish. Emily has a rare ability to relate statistics and accounting concepts to students in ways that are easy to understand.
Shai is the head Chemistry, Physics, and Biology tutor at LionTutors. He first began tutoring undergraduate students while majoring in Chemistry at the University of Florida, and has continued to do so for over a decade now. Shai’s interactive teaching style and ability to relate to college students, combined with his love of science (as well as all things sci-fi and fantasy!), has lead to improved grades for thousands of students at Penn State University. Currently, Shai lives in the UK and is flown out to State College each month to give his exam reviews. That’s right, Shai is such an amazing tutor that LionTutors literally flies him in from England to give LionTutors Exam Reviews!
Dana is one of our tutors for ACCTG211. She strives to help students thoroughly understand the topics of the course in order to succeed. She is currently enrolled in Penn State’s Masters of Accounting program. Outside of LionTutors, she is a coach of the Penn State Club Cheerleading team. Dana also enjoys traveling, cooking, and binge watching Netflix!
Aaron is one of the tutors for FIN 301 and ACCTG 211. He is from Marlboro,NJ, and he is currently enrolled in Penn State’s Masters of Accounting Program with a double major in Finance. Aaron enjoys helping his students build a solid foundation in two important Business core classes. He plans to work on Wall Street after graduation.
Evan is a Math 140 tutor studying Aerospace Engineering with a minor in Engineering Entrepreneurship. He is involved with State of State and Movin’ On committees. Every fall, Evan also participates in one of Penn State’s greatest traditions: the Blue Band. It is a serious time commitment, but Evan is very passionate about music and playing his trombone. While away from the classroom, you can probably find Evan playing his synth, attending a concert, or looking for new artists to get into. He loves math because it is a discipline that is deeply satisfying to comprehend and apply. Tutoring gives him the opportunity to instill this understanding in people. Kristi received her B.S. in Behavioral Sciences with a minor in Human Resource Management from York College of Pennsylvania. She worked in nonprofit management, marketing, and public relations for 14 years while freelancing for local and national businesses as a writer. She received her MAEd in Educational Studies in October 2011 and splits her time between teaching and advocating for children with disabilities and their families. Kristi has also taken additional psychology graduate courses. She appreciates the importance of creating study materials that are easy to understand and interesting to read. She lives in State College with her husband and teenage daughter and enjoys photography, ukuleles, reading, and really old movies. She creates study materials for MGMT 301, MKTG 301, and BA 342. Kristi often provides private tutoring services to PSU undergrads studying business, behavioral sciences, English, and education.
Stephen is an Economics major tutoring ECON 102 for LionTutors. Stephen is also a Lion Ambassador and a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. He enjoys playing sports, spending time with family and friends, and assisting students through tutoring. He loves tutoring and is always willing to lend a hand.
Peter is an Industrial Engineering student tutoring ECON 102 for LionTutors. Outside of Liontutors he is President of his Fraternity Sigma Alpha Epsilon and a member of the Institute of Industrial Engineers. He began tutoring in high school and loves to help make things easier for students so they can learn better. He loves to spend his free time hanging out with friends, playing sports, and being outdoors.
Mariana is one of our ECON 102 tutors. She loves helping students grasp difficult concepts by explaining them in the most relatable way possible. She is from Allentown, PA. Outside the classroom she is heavily involved in Alpha Phi and Women in Business. She loves to hang out with friends, travel, and eat great food.
Matt is one of our tutors for ECON 102 and FIN 301. He is majoring in Finance with a minor in Economics. He decided to become a tutor because of his passion for helping others succeed, especially in core business courses. Outside of tutoring, Matt is involved in THON and the Nittany Lion Fund. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, snowboarding, traveling, going to the gym, and brewing coffee. After graduation, he is planning on pursuing a career in Investment Banking.
Lizzie is a tutor for Econ 102, Stat 200, and Acct 211. She is from Staten Island, New York. She is passionate about all things business. She is majoring in finance integrated with the MAcc program to pursue her masters in accounting. She hopes to be working on Wall Street after graduation! Lizzie’s tutoring started in high school when she was the head math tutor in her school’s peer tutoring program in her senior year. She loves helping students overcome academic obstacles and enjoys when she knows she really made a difference in a student’s understanding of the material. Aside from tutoring she loves hanging with friends, and giving back a lot of her free time to her dancer relations committee for THON. She is friendly, approachable and willing to spend extra time with any student to help them succeed.
Eric is one of our ACCTG 211 tutors. He is majoring in Accounting and is a member of the Integrated MAcc class of 2020. Eric plans to become a CPA upon graduation. He enjoys helping students learn accounting and loves to answer any questions they may have. When Eric isn’t tutoring, he is involved in Atlas and enjoys playing intramural sports throughout the year. Growing up in the suburbs of Pittsburgh, Eric loves watching the Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates in his free time.
Lily is one of our FIN 301 tutors. She is from State College, PA and is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance. She enjoys helping students grasp complicated subjects and obtain their academic goals. Outside of tutoring, Lily is involved with the Penn State Finance Society and the Penn State Investment Association. She plans to work for an investment bank after graduation.
Natalie is one of our SCM 200 tutors. She is majoring in Supply Chain Management and minoring in Spanish and Information Systems Management. She is from Collegeville, PA, a town located about 40 minutes outside of Philly. Outside of class, Natalie is involved in her community service sorority and Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals. When Natalie isn’t busy with school work and other activities, she is hanging out with her friends and roommates, watching Netflix, or looking up places to visit for when she goes to study abroad in Seville, Spain.
Kathryn is one of our STAT 200 tutors. She is majoring in Mathematics with a minor in Statistics. She is from Pittsburgh and studied abroad in Paris. Outside of Lion Tutors, she is on Club Swimming and volunteers for THON. Kathryn loves to travel, run, and spend time with friends.
Sierra is a math tutor for MATH021, MATH022, and MATH140. She is pursuing a bachelors degree in Architectural Engineering with minors in Applied Mathematics and Architectural Studies. She’s been tutoring math since high school and tutors kids/teenagers at home as well. She’s from Northern Virginia, right outside Washington D.C. Outside class, she loves to spend time with friends, watch Netflix, and read!
Jordan is a tutor for Math 140 and Math 251 studying Computational Data Sciences, with minors in French and Math. He grew up in King of Prussia, about 30 minutes out of Philadelphia. Jordan enjoys walking students through complex problems. He is involved with THON, both on a committee and as his fraternity’s THON chair. In his free time, he likes to play racquetball and work out, and he is an avid Phillies fan.
Liz is one of our tutors for MATH110. She is currently enrolled in the Penn State’s Master of Accounting Program. Liz’s favorite part of tutoring is watching a student understand a topic he or she was struggling with before they came to Lion Tutors. She strives to make sure every student leaves with a better understanding of the material. In her free time, she enjoys going to Penn State football games, hiking, and hanging out with friends.
Maggie is a math tutor at Lion Tutors and is majoring in Accounting. She enjoys tutoring math because she has a passion for the subject and enjoys helping others understand it! Maggie is from Wayne, PA (which is 30 minutes outside of Philadelphia). In her free time, she loves to workout by doing Crossfit, running, and swimming. When she is not working out or studying, Maggie is hanging out with her sisters of Alpha Phi!
Monica is one of our tutors for MATH 251. She grew up in Erie, PA and is studying mechanical engineering with a minor in math. Monica’s favorite part about tutoring is helping other students work through difficult concepts. Outside of the classroom, Monica is involved with THON. In her free time, Monica likes to work out and hang out with friends.
Madeline is a sophomore from the Pittsburgh area studying Business and Agribusiness Management. Outside of class, she is a member of the Sapphire Leadership Academic Program and the Nittany Consulting Group. Madeline loves horseback riding, all things Penn State football, and her Phi Sigma Sigma sisters. Madeline has a knack for teaching and her approachability makes it easy to learn from her. Jessica is a business student that enjoys tutoring business calculus. She loves to help students understand the concepts and then succeed in the class. She is from Dresher, PA, outside of Philadelphia. In her free time Jessica enjoys hanging out with her sorority sisters, business frat brothers, watching Netflix and working out.
Johnna is one of our tutors for MATH 110. She strives to plan and execute skill-level appropriate activities to ensure that her students are fully prepared for their exams. Outside of LionTutors, Johnna is the THON Director for Women in Business and the Public Relations Director for Smeal Student Council. She also enjoys photography and traveling internationally. Lenae is a Math 141 tutor studying to become a Physics and Mathematics Secondary Educator. She began tutoring her peers in high school and loves to help others grow intellectually. After graduation she looks forward to finding a job as a high school teacher and continuing to share her passion for learning with others. Aside from tutoring she is heavily involved and serves on the executive team of her Thon Special Interest Org, Ohana. She loves her role as a tutor and will always go the extra mile to help a student be successful.
Michael is one of our tutors for Math 141. He is from Stamford, CT and is studying Aerospace Engineering with a minor in IST for Aerospace Engineering. He would love to work for companies like SpaceX, NASA or Boeing and design things that go to space. He always tries to help his peers understand the concepts in Math and his other classes. He is very eager to help you learn Math 141!
Brooke is a Biology major on the pre-med track at Penn State. She enjoys tutoring in a way that makes Chemistry seem easy and straightforward. In her free time, Brooke enjoys playing soccer, yoga, and painting. She is excited to help students enjoy Chemistry and is happy to do whatever she can to help students succeed!
Sabrina is a CHEM 110 and CHEM 112 tutor. She is studying Biomedical Engineering with the Biochemical option. She’s very involved with research on campus and she is the president of the Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES). Sabrina has been working with LionTutors since her first semester at Penn State, and absolutely loves it! She enjoys working with other students and sharing her passion for Chemistry. Sabrina is from Westchester, NY, and enjoys swimming and rock climbing in her free time.
Adam Barsouk is a tutor for Chem 112. He is majoring in Pre-medicine as part of the accelerated BS/MD with Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, while also minoring in Health Policy and Administration and Anthropology. Adam works in a cancer research laboratory at the University of Pittsburgh and is a writer for numerous health politics publications, as well as for Phroth, the Penn State satirical newspaper. In his free time, Adam would love to run, swim, hike and climb, though as a premed in organic chemistry laboratory, Adam cannot even imagine the concept of free time.
Dan is a tutor for Phys 211, and he is an Electrical Engineering major. He’s been tutoring physics since high school, and he loves helping students navigate through difficult physics concepts. He is involved in the school’s Formula Racing Club, where he has been in charge of designing and building the car’s brake light. Dan is extremely competitive, and he always tries to be the best in everything he does, whether it be running, ping pong, or super smash bros.
Marc is a Math 140 tutor studying Biomedical Engineering with a Biochemical focus. Born and raised in Philadelphia, he is very familiar with the disappointment that comes with being a die-hard Philly sports fan. Aside from tutoring, Marc works in a Biochemical Lab, investigating the viral replicase of the Zika and West Nile virus. He aspires to obtain his Ph.D. in BME and eventually become a research professor.
Austin is a Math 141 tutor here at Lion Tutors. At Penn State, Austin is a Schreyer Honors Scholar, and a Biomedical Engineering Major. As such, he takes his studies seriously, and has a solid understanding of Calculus and its applications. He is passionate about helping students to learn the concepts and problem solving strategies they need to excel. Austin grew up in West Chester, Pennsylvania, and enjoys sleeping (he never seems to get enough), hanging around with his friends, and playing Super Smash Brothers in his spare time. In addition, he loves being immersed in foreign cultures, and has recently travelled to Perth, Australia, as well as many of the cities in central and southern Japan. Austin is quite friendly and patient, and is always happy to spend some extra time with students to help them succeed in the classroom.

Tom is one of our SCM 200 tutors, and he is pursuing a degree in Finance. He is from Erie, Pennsylvania. Tom is very involved outside the classroom. Besides LionTutors, he is on the Executive Board of the Sports Business Club, a member of Atlas FTK, and plays on the Club Basketball team. In his free time, Tom spends time with his friends and watches sports.
Ishan is a CHEM 112 tutor majoring in Mechanical Engineering. As a previous member of a Robotics and Engineering team and current member of an Autonomous Vehicles Research Group at Penn State, Ishan has always had a passion for learning new things. He enjoys tutoring because it allows him to project that interest in learning onto students who might find it challenging. Aside from tutoring, Ishan enjoys activities like hiking, basketball, and video games. He is always searching for new experiences, including answering any Chemistry questions you may have!
