Josh is the Head Business Tutor at LionTutors. Josh has developed the content for the majority of LionTutors business courses. He has taught thousands of students in subjects ranging from Economics, Accounting, Finance, and Statistics to Advanced Computer Software and the GMAT/GRE test prep. He worked with a division of Cengage Learning, one of the major textbook companies, as a senior developer of Aplia online problem sets that pair with finance, economics, and accounting textbooks for a period of six years. Josh graduated Sum Cum Laude from the University of Florida while majoring in finance.
Sarah is the director of the Math department and head Math tutor at LionTutors. She received a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics and a Masters in Business Management at the University of Florida. Sarah has been tutoring math for over a decade. She has a true talent, and more importantly, a true passion for teaching. Sarah makes math easy by breaking up each problem step-by-step and using language that students understand. We’ll even go so far as to say, she makes learning math fun… well as fun as math can be anyway!
Shai is the head Chemistry, Physics, and Biology tutor at LionTutors. He first began tutoring undergraduate students while majoring in Chemistry at the University of Florida, and has continued to do so for over a decade now. Shai’s interactive teaching style and ability to relate to college students, combined with his love of science (as well as all things sci-fi and fantasy!), has lead to improved grades for thousands of students at Penn State University. Currently, Shai lives in the UK and is flown out to State College each month to give his exam reviews. That’s right, Shai is such an amazing tutor that LionTutors literally flies him in from England to give LionTutors Exam Reviews!
Emily is our head ACCTG 211 and STAT 200 tutor. She is also the LionTutors Director of Operations. She is from Canton, PA and is the third of her sisters to attend Penn State. She is in the Master of Accounting Program with a minor in Spanish. Emily has a rare ability to relate statistics and accounting concepts to students in ways that are easy to understand.
Nat is a tutor for Econ 102 and Math 141 here at Lion Tutors. He grew up in Villanova, PA and is studying Mechanical Engineering. Nat’s passion for tutoring comes from helping his two younger brothers with their homework assignments and test prep ever since they started school. He likes showing students that there are no academic obstacles too great to overcome and that even the hardest problems can be broken down and mastered. When Nat isn’t tutoring he likes to chill with friends, play sports, and hang out at his fraternity, Sigma Pi.
Brent is a Chem 112 tutor at Lion Tutors. He grew up in Pittsburgh and is studying biology at Penn State. Brent enjoys tutoring, because he believes in showing students how to break a complex problem down into smaller parts. He loves to ski, mountain bike, and enjoys hanging out with friends. He hopes to attend medical school when he graduates from Penn State.
Josh is an engineering student who plans to study either chemical or industrial engineering with a minor in engineering leadership development. Josh is from Chicago, IL. He plans to work in the engery sector after graduation. Josh enjoys the opportunity to help other students get better grades in their classes. He is a member of the fraternity Sigma Phi Epsilon.
Catherine is a tutor for MATH022. A Food Science major, with a minor in Statistics, she has a true passion for math and has been tutoring since High School. She loves it when the mathematical concepts finally “click” for her students, and is grateful to be on the Lion Tutors team. Outside of the classroom, Catherine enjoys spending time with friends and working out. A former competitive gymnast, she now likes supporting the Penn State Gymnastic Team and has been a life-long Penn State football fan. She promises to never miss a home football game, rain or shine!
Evan is a Math 140 tutor studying Aerospace Engineering with a minor in Engineering Entrepreneurship. He is involved with State of State and Movin’ On committees. Every fall, Evan also participates in one of Penn State’s greatest traditions: the Blue Band. It is a serious time commitment, but Evan is very passionate about music and playing his trombone. While away from the classroom, you can probably find Evan playing his synth, attending a concert, or looking for new artists to get into. He loves math because it is a discipline that is deeply satisfying to comprehend and apply. Tutoring gives him the opportunity to instill this understanding in people. Kristi received her B.S. in Behavioral Sciences with a minor in Human Resource Management from York College of Pennsylvania. She worked in nonprofit management, marketing, and public relations for 14 years while freelancing for local and national businesses as a writer. She received her MAEd in Educational Studies in October 2011 and splits her time between teaching and advocating for children with disabilities and their families. Kristi has also taken additional psychology graduate courses. She appreciates the importance of creating study materials that are easy to understand and interesting to read. She lives in State College with her husband and teenage daughter and enjoys photography, ukuleles, reading, and really old movies. She creates study materials for MGMT 301, MKTG 301, and BA 342. Kristi often provides private tutoring services to PSU undergrads studying business, behavioral sciences, English, and education.
Emily is a tutor for MATH021 and MATH022022 at Lion Tutors. She is originally from Wilmington, Delaware and is double majoring in Applied Statistics and Health Policy and Administration here at Penn State. She enjoys tutoring because she likes making difficult mathematical concepts easier to understand; and likes helping students do well on exams. She is very involved with THON through her special interest organization, Ohana, and the Rules and Regulations Committee. In her spare time, she likes reading, spending time with friends, and talking about her favorite place on earth, Disney World!
John is one of our Math 141 tutors. He is studying Biomedical Engineering here at Penn State in the Schreyer Honors College with a pre-med track. John has tutored at various math levels throughout high school and enjoys spreading his knowledge wherever he can. He also conducts research on campus, is the President of the Engineering Undergraduate Council, and is involved in THON and Relay for Life at Penn State.
Austin is a Math 141 tutor here at Lion Tutors. At Penn State, Austin is a Schreyer Honors Scholar, and a Biomedical Engineering Major. As such, he takes his studies seriously, and has a solid understanding of Calculus and its applications. He is passionate about helping students to learn the concepts and problem solving strategies they need to excel. Austin grew up in West Chester, Pennsylvania, and enjoys sleeping (he never seems to get enough), hanging around with his friends, and playing Super Smash Brothers in his spare time. In addition, he loves being immersed in foreign cultures, and has recently travelled to Perth, Australia, as well as many of the cities in central and southern Japan. Austin is quite friendly and patient, and is always happy to spend some extra time with students to help them succeed in the classroom.
Alek is a junior majoring in chemical engineering. Originally from Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, Alek conducts research in 2D material synthesis at the Millennium Science Complex. He is trilingual and enjoys visiting his family around world. In his free time Alek likes hanging out with friends, going to the gym, playing soccer, and helping people understand about the world of physics. Alek hopes to attend MIT for graduate school after Penn State.
Dana is one of our tutors for ACCTG211. She strives to help students thoroughly understand the topics of the course in order to succeed. She is currently enrolled in Penn State’s Masters of Accounting program. Outside of LionTutors, she is a coach of the Penn State Club Cheerleading team. Dana also enjoys traveling, cooking, and binge watching Netflix!
Aaron is one of the tutors for FIN 301 and ACCTG 211. He is from Marlboro,NJ, and he is currently enrolled in Penn State’s Masters of Accounting Program with a double major in Finance. Aaron enjoys helping his students build a solid foundation in two important Business core classes. He plans to work on Wall Street after graduation.
Stephen is an Economics major tutoring ECON 102 for LionTutors. Stephen is also a Lion Ambassador and a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. Mariana is one of our ECON 102 tutors. She loves helping students grasp difficult concepts by explaining them in the most relatable way possible. She is from Allentown, PA. Outside the classroom she is heavily involved in Alpha Phi and Women in Business. She loves to hang out with friends, travel, and eat great food.
Stephanie is one of our tutors for ECON 102. She is majoring in Supply Chain with minors in Japanese and Economics through the Schreyer Honors College. She loves economics because of how applicable it is to our everyday lives, and she loves to use real world examples to convey challenging concepts. Outside of tutoring, she is involved with Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity and the Nittany Consulting Group. She loves attending concerts, traveling internationally, and making art! Emily is a tutor for Stat 200. She is from Collegeville, PA, a town 40 minutes from Philly, and she currently studies Finance at Penn State. Starting in high school, she has always enjoyed statistics and loves to help other students find their talent in statistics too. Other than tutoring, Emily is involved with a business fraternity, Phi Beta Lambda, likes to run, and hang out with her roommates. She has always had a strong passion for THON and gets involved as THON Chair for her organization.
Emma is one of our Stat 200 tutors. She is majoring in Biology and Psychology in the Schreyer Honors College here at Penn State. She is on the pre med track, and she is also heavily involved in research. She is happy to answer any Statistics questions you may have!
Sam is one of our tutors for STAT 200. She is originally from a small town outside of Pittsburgh. She enjoys helping students better understand statistics through relatable examples. Sam is currently enrolled in the Masters of Accounting program. Outside of LionTutors she is highly involved in THON through Atlas. Sam also loves to travel and try new things.
Lizzie is a tutor for Econ 102, Stat 200, and Acct 211. She is from Staten Island, New York. She is passionate about all things business. She is majoring in finance integrated with the MAcc program to pursue her masters in accounting. She hopes to be working on Wall Street after graduation! Lizzie’s tutoring started in high school when she was the head math tutor in her school’s peer tutoring program in her senior year. She loves helping students overcome academic obstacles and enjoys when she knows she really made a difference in a student’s understanding of the material. Aside from tutoring she loves hanging with friends, and giving back a lot of her free time to her dancer relations committee for THON. She is friendly, approachable and willing to spend extra time with any student to help them succeed.
Kala is one of our SCM 200 tutors. She is majoring in Supply Chain Management with a minor in International Business. She likes teaching and helping people, which has led her to tutoring. This past semester Kala studied abroad in Prague where she had the best semester of her life. At school, she loves to hang out with her friends, and she is very involved in THON within her sorority. After graduation, she hopes to pursue a career in the manufacturing industry.
Sierra is a math tutor for MATH021, MATH022, and MATH140. She’s undecided within the Engineering school as of right now but is on route to double major in Architectural Engineering and Applied Mathematics. She’s been tutoring math since high school and tutors kids/teenagers at home as well. She’s from Northern Virginia, right outside Washington D.C. Outside class, she loves to spend time with friends, watch Netflix, and read!
Jordan is a tutor for Math 140 and Math 251 studying Computational Data
Sciences, with minors in French and Math. He grew up in King of Prussia, about
30 minutes out of Philadelphia. Jordan enjoys walking students through complex
problems. He is involved with THON, both on a committee and as his fraternity’s
THON chair. In his free time, he likes to play racquetball and work out, and
he is an avid Phillies fan.

Maggie is a math tutor at Lion Tutors and is majoring in Accounting. She enjoys tutoring math because she has a passion for the subject and enjoys helping others understand it! Maggie is from Wayne, PA (which is 30 minutes outside of Philadelphia). In her free time, she loves to workout by doing Crossfit, running, and swimming. When she is not working out or studying, Maggie is hanging out with her sisters of Alpha Phi!
Justin is one of our Acctg 211 tutors. He enjoys helping students understand the underlying concepts behind accounting. Outside of LionTutors, Justin is involved in his Business Fraternity, Alpha Kappa Psi, and the Nittany Lion Fund. He loves to watch sports, travel, and exercise.
Nadia is one of our ACCTG211 tutors. She is from Holland, PA. She’s always had a passion for helping accounting students grasp difficult topics. Outside of Liontutors, she enjoys spending her time doing service with her sorority Gamma Sigma Sigma. She also loves to read, cook, travel, and pet every dog that she can. She hopes to work in Chicago once she graduates.
Natalie is one of our SCM 200 tutors. She is majoring in Supply Chain Management and minoring in Spanish and Information Systems Management. She is from Collegeville, PA, a town located about 40 minutes outside of Philly. Outside of class, Natalie is involved in her community service sorority and Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals. When Natalie isn’t busy with school work and other activities, she is hanging out with her friends and roommates, watching Netflix, or looking up places to visit for when she goes to study abroad in Seville, Spain.

Johnny is a tutor for Fin 301. He is from Scotch Plains, NJ, and he is currently majoring in Finance at Penn State with a two-piece in Accounting. He is a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity and a member of the Nittany Co-Op Board. Johnny works to help students succeed in this core business class and to build a foundation for their business careers.
Shannon is a tutor for MATH021 and MATH022 here at Lion Tutors. She is a Secondary Math Education major who grew up in Lansdale, PA. She really enjoys tutoring math and this is one reason she wants to become a high school math teacher. Other than working at Lion Tutors, Shannon can be found actively participating in THON, hanging out with friends, and supporting Penn State athletics.
