Sarah is the director of the Math department and head Math tutor at LionTutors. She received a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics and a Masters in Business Management at the University of Florida. Sarah has been tutoring math for over a decade. She has a true talent, and more importantly, a true passion for teaching. Sarah makes math easy by breaking up each problem step-by-step and using language that students understand. We’ll even go so far as to say, she makes learning math fun… well as fun as math can be anyway!
Kenny DeGiglio is the head tutor for business classes at LionTutors. Kenny studied finance at Penn State where he graduated in 2015 with honors. Kenny has helped countless students through Penn State’s most challenging business classes by breaking down complex concepts into simple strategies that students can use to succeed on exams. He tries his best to keep his reviews entertaining and lighthearted (please laugh at his jokes even though they’re not funny), and he will always go the extra mile to make sure that students get the grade they want!
Emily is our head accounting, statistics, and economics tutor. She is also the LionTutors Director of Operations. She graduated from Penn State’s MAcc program in 2016 with a masters in accounting and a minor in Spanish. Emily has a rare ability to relate statistics, accounting, and economics concepts to students in ways that are easy to understand.
Shai is the head Chemistry, Physics, and Biology tutor at LionTutors. He first began tutoring undergraduate students while majoring in Chemistry at the University of Florida, and has continued to do so for over a decade now. Shai’s interactive teaching style and ability to relate to college students, combined with his love of science (as well as all things sci-fi and fantasy!), has lead to improved grades for thousands of students at Penn State University. Currently, Shai lives in the UK and is flown out to State College each month to give his exam reviews. That’s right, Shai is such an amazing tutor that LionTutors literally flies him in from England to give LionTutors Exam Reviews!
Kristi received her B.S. in Behavioral Sciences with a minor in Human Resource Management from York College of Pennsylvania. She worked in nonprofit management, marketing, and public relations for 14 years while freelancing for local and national businesses as a writer. She received her MAEd in Educational Studies in October 2011 and splits her time between teaching and advocating for children with disabilities and their families. Kristi has also taken additional psychology graduate courses. She appreciates the importance of creating study materials that are easy to understand and interesting to read. She lives in State College with her husband and teenage daughter and enjoys photography, ukuleles, reading, and really old movies. She creates study materials for MGMT 301, MKTG 301, and BA 342. Kristi often provides private tutoring services to PSU undergrads studying business, behavioral sciences, English, and education.
Matt is one of our tutors for ECON 102 and FIN 301. He is majoring in Finance with a minor in Economics. He decided to become a tutor because of his passion for helping others succeed, especially in core business courses. Outside of tutoring, Matt is involved in THON and the Nittany Lion Fund. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, snowboarding, traveling, going to the gym, and brewing coffee. After graduation, he is planning on pursuing a career in Investment Banking.
Lizzie is a tutor for ACCTG 211. She is from Staten Island, New York. She is passionate about all things business. She is majoring in finance integrated with the MAcc program to pursue her masters in accounting. She hopes to be working on Wall Street after graduation! Lizzie’s tutoring started in high school when she was the head math tutor in her school’s peer tutoring program in her senior year. She loves helping students overcome academic obstacles and enjoys when she knows she really made a difference in a student’s understanding of the material. Aside from tutoring she loves hanging with friends, and giving back a lot of her free time to her dancer relations committee for THON. She is friendly, approachable and willing to spend extra time with any student to help them succeed.
Sarah is one of our ACCTG 211 tutors. She is a member of the Masters of Accounting Program class of 2020, and is also working toward a Bachelors Degree in Finance. Sarah loves to challenge herself. She is hoping to become a CPA for a Big 4 accounting firm in New York City after graduation. She is a Flemington, New Jersey native who loves the beach, which prompted her choice to study abroad in Barcelona in the Spring of 2018. When Sarah isn’t tutoring, she enjoys working out, listening to music, and spending time with friends, family, and her 2-year-old dog Charlie who she loves very much!
Sierra is a math tutor for MATH021, MATH022, and MATH140. She is pursuing a bachelors degree in Architectural Engineering with minors in Applied Mathematics and Architectural Studies. She’s been tutoring math since high school and tutors kids/teenagers at home as well. She’s from Northern Virginia, right outside Washington D.C. Outside class, she loves to spend time with friends, watch Netflix, and read!
Jordan is a tutor for Math 140 and Math 251 studying Computational Data Sciences, with minors in French and Math. He grew up in King of Prussia, about 30 minutes out of Philadelphia. Jordan enjoys walking students through complex problems. He is involved with THON, both on a committee and as his fraternity’s THON chair. In his free time, he likes to play racquetball and work out, and he is an avid Phillies fan.
Maggie is a math tutor at Lion Tutors and is majoring in Accounting. She enjoys tutoring math because she has a passion for the subject and enjoys helping others understand it! Maggie is from Wayne, PA (which is 30 minutes outside of Philadelphia). In her free time, she loves to workout by doing Crossfit, running, and swimming. When she is not working out or studying, Maggie is hanging out with her sisters of Alpha Phi!
Madeline is a sophomore from the Pittsburgh area studying Business and Agribusiness Management. Outside of class, she is a member of the Sapphire Leadership Academic Program and the Nittany Consulting Group. Madeline loves horseback riding, all things Penn State football, and her Phi Sigma Sigma sisters. Madeline has a knack for teaching and her approachability makes it easy to learn from her. Jessica is a business student that enjoys tutoring business calculus. She loves to help students understand the concepts and then succeed in the class. She is from Dresher, PA, outside of Philadelphia. In her free time Jessica enjoys hanging out with her sorority sisters, business frat brothers, watching Netflix and working out.
Lenae is a Math 141 tutor studying to become a Physics and Mathematics Secondary Educator. She began tutoring her peers in high school and loves to help others grow intellectually. After graduation she looks forward to finding a job as a high school teacher and continuing to share her passion for learning with others. Aside from tutoring she is heavily involved and serves on the executive team of her Thon Special Interest Org, Ohana. She loves her role as a tutor and will always go the extra mile to help a student be successful.
Michael is one of our tutors for Math 141. He is from Stamford, CT and is studying Aerospace Engineering with a minor in IST for Aerospace Engineering. He would love to work for companies like SpaceX, NASA or Boeing and design things that go to space. He always tries to help his peers understand the concepts in Math and his other classes. He is very eager to help you learn Math 141!
Brooke is a Biology major on the pre-med track at Penn State. She enjoys tutoring in a way that makes Chemistry seem easy and straightforward. In her free time, Brooke enjoys playing soccer, yoga, and painting. She is excited to help students enjoy Chemistry and is happy to do whatever she can to help students succeed!
Sabrina is a CHEM 110 and CHEM 112 tutor. She is studying Biomedical Engineering with the Biochemical option. She’s very involved with research on campus and she is the president of the Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES). Sabrina has been working with LionTutors since her first semester at Penn State, and absolutely loves it! She enjoys working with other students and sharing her passion for Chemistry. Sabrina is from Westchester, NY, and enjoys swimming and rock climbing in her free time.
Dan is a tutor for Phys 211, and he is an Electrical Engineering major. He’s been tutoring physics since high school, and he loves helping students navigate through difficult physics concepts. He is involved in the school’s Formula Racing Club, where he has been in charge of designing and building the car’s brake light. Dan is extremely competitive, and he always tries to be the best in everything he does, whether it be running, ping pong, or super smash bros.
Jesse is one of our tutors for MATH 251, and he is studying Mechanical Engineering. He grew up on a small farm in Indiana, PA, which is about an hour and a half away from State College. At Penn State, Jesse is also a research assistant for Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) as well as a proud member of the Marching Blue Band and Glee Club. Jesse likes tutoring because he enjoys helping students to reach their highest potential in their classes. In his spare time, Jesse loves watching Netflix, singing, playing piano, and going out to see a movie with friends.
Katherine is a Biomedical Engineering student and one of our Math 141 tutors. Outside of LionTutors, she is involved with her sorority Kappa Alpha Theta, participates in intramural sports, and volunteers for THON. She is from Collegeville, PA. Sarah is one of our tutors for MATH110. She is a finance major in the Smeal College of Business. Sarah’s love for math, alongside her passion to help other students grasp and master this coursework, is the reason she started tutoring. When she isn’t tutoring, Sarah is probably playing lacrosse with her fellow club lax teammates or attending events with her THON committee. Natalie is one of our SCM 200 tutors. She is majoring in Supply Chain Management and minoring in Spanish and Information Systems Management. She is from Collegeville, PA, a town located about 40 minutes outside of Philly. Outside of class, Natalie is involved in her community service sorority and Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals. When Natalie isn’t busy with school work and other activities, she is hanging out with her friends and roommates, watching Netflix, or looking up places to visit for when she goes to study abroad in Seville, Spain.
Tom is one of our SCM 200 tutors, and he is pursuing a degree in Finance. He is from Erie, Pennsylvania. Tom is very involved outside the classroom. Besides LionTutors, he is on the Executive Board of the Sports Business Club, a member of Atlas FTK, and plays on the Club Basketball team. In his free time, Tom spends time with his friends and watches sports.
Kelsey is a tutor for MATH 220 and MATH 140. She is from Norristown, PA. At Penn State, she is double majoring in Mathematics and Secondary Mathematics Education. She is excited to become a teacher and naturally loves tutoring challenging topics that she can break down to help other students excel. Kelsey is passionate about helping students succeed inside and outside the classroom. Eventually, she hopes to continue her education in the education public policy field where she can help catalyze change. In her free time, she enjoys all things art or music related and a good movie. Neil is one of our MATH 251 tutors at LionTutors. He enjoys helping students gain a better understanding of the concepts taught in MATH 251 so that they are able to perform better in the class. He is a biomedical engineering major from outside of Philadelphia. When Neil isn’t in the classroom, he likes playing sports and watching football.
Will is one of our tutors for MATH 140. He is pursuing a bachelors degree in Civil Engineering with a minor in Geography. He grew up in Villanova, right outside of Philadelphia, PA. Will is passionate about transportation engineering and urban planning and hopes to one day apply his undergraduate studies to improve mass transit in America’s large cities. He enjoys teaching math to his peers and is eager to help other students with calculus. In his free time, Will enjoys cooking, playing music, traveling, and training for triathlons!
Zak is a tutor for PHYS 211 and PHYS 212. He is a junior Mechanical Engineering student. He enjoys helping students understand the problem-solving techniques used in Physics. Dave is one of our STAT 200 tutors. He is majoring in Finance with a minor in Political Science. He hopes to one day become a corporate attorney. He is from Northampton PA (near Allentown), and he loves all Philly sports teams. He chose to become a tutor because of his passion of helping others succeed. Other than tutoring, Dave is actively involved in his business fraternity Phi Chi Theta and THON.
Glen is one of our ACCTG 211 tutors, and he is a member of the Integrated Masters of Accounting Program Class of 2021. Upon graduation, he plans to become CPA and work close to home in New York City. He loves to help students progress and achieve their goals. Aside from tutoring, Glen is the treasurer of his fraternity and has a passion for all sports. In the summer he enjoys watching games at Yankee Stadium and road-tripping to different baseball stadiums with his friends. It is his goal to reach all 30 stadiums eventually!
Morgan is a CHEM 110 tutor. She is studying Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Chemistry. She’s involved with many student organizations on campus, such as ASCE’s Concrete Canoe and Engineering Ambassadors and you can find her giving tours of the college of engineering. She has a passion for chemistry and tries to make it fun for everyone! She is from Villanova, Pennsylvania, which is 15 minutes outside of Philadelphia.
Gina is one of our PHYS 211 tutors. She is currently a junior, majoring in Environmental Systems Engineering, and hopes to work with renewable energy in the future. She also is involved with her sorority, Alpha Omicron Pi, and loves to volunteer for THON. Gina is from Blue Bell, PA, right outside of Philadelphia (Go Birds!). Maddy is one of our BIOL 110 tutors at LionTutors. She is a biology major and a psych minor, and she does research in both areas. She hopes to eventually go to medical school. When she’s not in the lab or tutoring, she’s either at meetings for her THON Special Interest Org, Eclipse, or the ballet club on campus. She is excited to help make BIOL 110 an enjoyable experience!
